Let's see what everyone's opinions are on this age old debate. As a Nintendofag i'm going with the SNES obviously, but i actually own and like both

Nigger do I look like I was born 1972

I had a Sega Mega Drive (what it was called here) but I've emulated a ton of SNES games recently so it's hard to say.

sega had only sonic i think, snes mogs it

IDK, plenty of good games on MD too, like the Streets of Rage trilogy. There's a reason why this debate continues to this day.

Never played SNES games but used to play a lot of emulated Genesis games on my pc back in the day.

snes is classic, bunch of good shit on there. but ive never played any genesis games so i could be missing out

As a kid when I had both I liked the Genesis and Sonic more than the SNES and Mario.

Im voting for Sega because I owned it back in the day.

Fuck it, me too. I can't sell out on Sega now.
We used to rent Sega when I was 6-10yo we would play only golden axe 3, mk3 and fifa with the limited time, then when we bought one, we discovered bunch of good games.

SNES all the way, except for Sonic.

For me Sonic 2, MK II, Ecco the Dolphin, the Lion King, Micro Machines 2: Turbo Tournament, NBA Jam, World Cup Italia '90, Theme Park...

I guess now that I'm older I've appreciated the storytelling more from JRPGs that rocked the SNES.

This is hard to make a call on. I feel like we had good memories with both !

Not surprising, considering that Sega is American. ( you had more accessibility to it )
I do have a Sega Dreamcast though, that´s the only Sega console i own.
- Not ecofriendly, when paying the electricity bill. ( It consumes way more than my PS3, even though it´s a PAL model )

It´s a different aesthetic from Nintendo, the selling point was that games were much faster.
Nintendo focused more on the pixel quality, instead of speed. ( still F-Zero is plenty fast, the game being a technological achievement on the SNES )

I do enjoy the games both of them offer, since that´s the main point of obtaining these consoles.

I’m playing kid chameleon and other fun games on my Genesis mini now, but absolutely nothing can top the SNES.

Phantasy star 4 is a nice rpg for Genesis owners, but if you put it up against the likes of Chrono Trigger, FFVI, SmRPG, etc it will get absolutely skull-crushed in an instant.

Indeed, excellent points. The genesis is easily emulated on PC, and played with a controller for PC.

Sega can do what nintenDONT

For me Sonic 2, MK II, Ecco the Dolphin, the Lion King, Micro Machines 2: Turbo Tournament, NBA Jam, World Cup Italia '90, Theme Park...
Some choice names there.

I also liked Sonic 2 and ecco, also played Jurassic Park, Aladdin, vectorman, earthworm Jim

Genesis: Gunstar Heroes, Sanics, Streets of Rages

SNES: Final Fantasies, Breath of Fires, Lufia 2, Super Mario RPG, Mega Mans, Chrono Trigger, Donkey Kong Countries, Front Mission, Illusion of Gaia, Soul Blazer, Terranigma, Earthbound, Kirbys, Ogre Battle, Secret of Manas, Bombermans, Super Metroid, Yoshi's Island, A Link to the Past, Bahamut Lagoon, Tales of Phantasia

Fun game. Never managed to beat it though.
I’m getting pretty far in it now but it is because I am playing it on the genesis mini which has save states. It is definitely a rival to super Mario bros. I will do a review on it sometime
