Stormfrontcels and historycels should watch Saga of Tanya the evil (Youjo Senki) anime

It's about a 40 something succesful and ruthless salaryman who dies and gets reincarnated as a blonde loli in an alternate version of the German Empire during WWI (but there are so many references to WWII as well). All the other nations also have alternative names. He joins the army and for some reason they take him (or now, her) seriously and give him a major position. But really what he wants is a comfy back office position far from the frontlines, it's not gonna be easy to get that.

The story is mostly apolitical but shows the (not) German Empire in a good light showing them as very efficient and fighting honorably. I said mostly because in the movie they fight against the (not) Soviet Union and Tanya says she hates commies so much. Also it doesn't have any fanservice and the fighting scenes are well done though some chapters are just talking about tactics or consequences of war. And from what I've read the light novels are even more dense going full into details about logistics and military stategy so bet it's a good read for historycels into that.

Even if I'm neither a stormfrontcel or historycel I enjoyed this one I hope we get a season 2.

OG isekai, this was one of the series to start the isekai takeover. The part i like is that is a different take on the isekai genre, less off a self insert power fantasy and more of a actual story. I also liked how it portrayed the commies as the bastards they are. And the ending was a banger.
I almost started reading the light novel, almost. If there ever is a manga adaptation i will read it.
