I had openly predicted that STDs would become more widespread in the near future back when I was still in high school in a science class. Sophomore year if I recall correctly. Even shared some information from the Health Class textbook with the other students about how in the US alone someone contracts an STD every 8 seconds. Don't know if that's true but it was enough to scare some people.
