There's an omni soul or energy field that permeates all living things like the Force in Star Wars or Warp energies from Warhammer 40K as far as I'm concerned. That's something sensible there. At the very first stage of conception there's about as much 'soul power' in that as a stick of celery. It'll manifest into a conscious mind at some point later on so make it illegal after that point.
