I really cannot understand why anyone would like these games. The design for the original trilogy is absolutely horrid. Brainless loopy loops, clunky platforming, occasionally slowing down so you don't bump into an enemy and lose rings. There's nothing satisfying about sonic outside of memorizing levels and setting records. Even that isn't unique to sonic.

Sonic adventure 1 & 2 the closest sonic came to being enjoyable for me. The speed based gameplay worked better in 3d than it did 2d. However, even then the controls still felt horrible and the gimmick characters basically ruined the games pacing.

The "boost" sonic games were horrible. Some of the most brainless gameplay there is. It really is just moving the stick right and left to avoid hazards and occasionally jumping. Something that works better as a mobile game than a console game.

Those games had to add filler just like sonic adventure did. However the filler in this case was even worse. Incredibly clunky "classic" sonic gameplay or a shitty GOW clone in regards to unleash.

I played a demo of the newest game and it was a generic ubislop game but with SAAANNIC.

Holy shit this is an overated series. One of the most cringe too. Feels especially dated because it was basically created solely to pander to westerners in the 90s. They need to ensure sonic never talks again.

Also... Why do so many adults shill those shitty sonic movies? I've never watched them because I have a pair of fully developed testicles. However, from what I've seen from trailers they're filled with unfunny pop culture references targeting Gen alpha. No wonder so many troons like sonic. If someone is willing to see something like that in theaters as an adult without embarrassment , then it's no wonder that they'd be willing to pretend to be an anime girl without embarrassment.

I never played any sonic games, but yeah I recently saw gameplay from one of the first sonic games and it looked awkward + the newer sonic games all look barren and technologically backward, reminds me a of newer pokemon games.
I like soundtrack from Sonic: Frontiers though, especially the vocal tracks and the "cyberspace" ones:



But overall I'm happy that sonic exists as a franchise, because otherwise we'd never get autismeralds like these:

You are damn right i started playing SA1 recently it was the first Sonic game that was somewhat enjoyable to play but once you go from the designers intended path you will drop into the abyss without way to recover most of the time it's a shame that those games are extremely on rails and once you miss some collectibles you won't be able to go back without restarting.

Actually it was an PSO2 NGS asset flip everything was copied from that dogshit troonified game (that killed the Phantasy star franchise) including engine and it's graphic effects, biomes (and assets) and even enemy design was similar. Only music in hyperspace was good like

To be fair Sonic CD isn't exactly the best Sonic game!

Overall I think it's quite cool but... I found the level design sloppy and the signposts annoying.

Sonic 2 for example is much better as are most of the other Mega Drive entries.

I never liked Sonic, too fast for me lol. I can't see where i'm going when i get full speed. Mario was king, much better level design and gameplay. Also donkey kong country games or wario land 4 where better 2d platformers than sonic for my taste. As for 3d sonic i barely played any but don't find it interesting
