if you never had any success in high school then you’re fucked. College is harder to find any sort of friendship or relationship and sooner or later everyone will grow out of the hanging out stage. Most will have girlfriends already and be married and soon have kids. Their will be no time for you to get any friends or any of that kind of shit

Yep and too many people fail to understand this. When you never had a girlfriend, or even friends for that matter in high school, it’s beyond over and I don’t care what anyone says. You are so far behind socially it’s actually ridiculous. Even if you do get a gf, you are still messed up for life from rotting in your formative years. I actually have 2 friends right now, a special ed guy I knew in middle school, and a guy twice my age with a wife and kid. The first guy still hangs out with me like once every couple weeks, but the second guy is so busy with his family that he can’t hang out more than like once a month. You are fucked if you can’t find a long term partner, because that is what is supposed to fulfill your social needs more so than friends

Yeah, I am grateful for that. Here’s the thing though. We were good friends in middle school, and were actually the only friend either of us had. We went to different high schools though, and he became so socially awkward and a so much of a shut in, he didn’t see me in person for almost 5 years after middle school and was too scared to even call me on the phone. I tried, but he was too scared. It was only after I texted him my father died recently that he got the courage to meet me into again. We seemed to instantly be friends again, and it was obvious it was just because he became so scared of social situations he didn’t see me, not because he didn’t want to. We have hung out a bunch of times since and all seems good now
