It has been awhile since i've watched an anime so i'm more likely to give it a go.
It's a somewhat 'old' classic, it present one of the most notorious yanderes and the premise was good for about 6 chapters. If i had to choose i would rather you watch higurashi no naku, but if you already did you may watch this one

Personally I liked it, but that's largely just because I like yanderes. A lot of people hate it because frankly a lot of it is really contrived and there's a lot of ass pulls. It's not something that would stand up to much scrutiny with regards to the plot.
Basically if you're someone who likes to overanalyze things about the plot, you won't like it. If you like yandere a lot, you'll like it. Then again, if you liked yandare that much you probably would have watched this by now.
