after not going to the gym for 7 months i'm back down to a 50lb bench from 90 and 25lb dumbell bicep curl from 35
 
Do it, everyone has to start somewhere. If that’s where you need to start then so be it

At thatt point it's better to do push ups, do as many as you can everyday if you have a pull up bar or even just a tree branch outside doing chin ups too would be good, 3kg dumbbells won't do anything, 10kg is bare minimum even for an auschwitz victim to curl

Feels good and gives you something to do that involves a positive feedback loop. If you are careful about what and how you train, the chances of hurting yourself in the long run should be way smaller than the %reduction in long term health risks. Just be careful when it comes to your lower back and knees. Don't let your ego drive you to increase the weights beyond what you can comfortably handle.

In general, people with an education in a adjacent field or people who work with top athletes >> influencers / mass monsters.
