My HS is offering an advanced summer Computer Science program a few states away for college credits in which students stay in a dormitory for three weeks. I was considering taking part in it this year but am afraid that I will be faced with one of my greatest fears, actively hearing/seeing people "having their fun" and having to rot through that. I think I would seriously spill my spaghetti. Reading users' posts about that is the biggest suifuel for me and makes me feel physically sick. Then again, I think it's just going to be filled with nerds like me but I'm not sure if I want to chance it. What should I do bros? :waitwhat:

Incel with money, Incel without money. Choose one.

Don't waste this opportunity. Most Computer Science students are awkward geeks anyway. You're not going to study with a bunch of Chads for God's sake. Just go.

Force yourself to get through it. You will have money for copes later

Whatever you do don't do a PhD

Fuck, i thought you meant CS:GO :feelshaha:.

CS and the whole cybersecurity fad is overrated. And I know people who struggle to find jobs after graduating - I know, I know, you heard every prick screaming "zomg cybersecurity is in huge demand!!!", but believe me, it's not as easy to get your foot in the door as it sounds. For a good job you need security clearance and all this shit, and if not get ready to compete with a bunch of curries for a laughable pay.

Do you enjoy any of it? If not, prepare to hate your life even more (if that's even possible). I fucking hate cybersecurity. As for computer science, that involves all the coding and math too, which sounds like an unfiltered fucking nightmare.

But wait, there's more:

- Arguably the loneliest sausagefest field out there. Get ready to work alongside a bunch of weiners. I don't know how the fuck it's possible to find a gf when your entire circle is all men and they are all single and they are all desperately looking.

- Nobody in US and the West gives a fuck about your fancy "computer science" job. Get ready to SEAmaxx or betabuxx in other third world countries.

I don't want to pursue a career in cybersecurity because I've heard it is extremely stressful as you always have to be on top of every new bug or exploit therefore, you would always be working with little to no downtime. I do enjoy utilizing programing and math to solve problems and create projects. I know things that people enjoy become stale after they turn it into a job but I think it sounds better than slaving away at most other office jobs. I work better with males and probably won't find a loyal gf anyway in the age of online whoring as a 5'5" sperg. I'd probably actually like it much better with sausagefest environment because then I could meet nice friends.

I mean... I went to uni. It's quite easy to make friends there. The very first night I was out partying because I'd met people in my dorm. And then while I was out (I think that night but it might have been a day or so later) I met the person who would turn out to be my best friend while I was there.

So it went OK for me.

That being said I do kind of wish I never went, but that's only because my social life back at home was actually really good and I've always felt like by going to uni I kind of jettisoned that because by the time I got back a lot of it had fizzled out.

Depends on what it costs but it probably makes sense to go. Either that or get some sort of part time job
