I was in a stem program in uni and I wanted to kill myself every second. University is only for upper middle class ppl, I tried networking joining clubs going to events and it was all the same. One look at me and they brushed me off. Blackpill every day made me drop out, no major is safe don't get into debt. Trades are much better choice, unions keep you from being too fucked over and theres a demand. Don't buy into the LifeScript.

If you can avoid university, avoid it. A lot of STEM careers want degrees, but programmers are judged more on their work history, so if you can teach yourself or find an internship or something like that you can jump right into your career. If not, then get that degree, but make sure it's in a field with good long-term job prospects. Or, find a trade. Something that the world has a need for and makes you money. Don't be a Becky who gets an interpretive dance degree and then complains about how oppressed she is because there are no interpretive dance jobs (and instead she has to be given an HR exec job to fill diversity quotas, poor Becky). Be realistic and plan for the future.

If you feel like you can actually succeed do it. If you don't have a clear plan then just do gen ed and work until you figure it out. You don't want to fail or get a degree in something you're not going to use and waste financial aid.
