is the supernatural thing explainable in the movie in ways that do not involve supernatural?

kubrik always left some hidden message in his movies, the only two people in the hotel were the wife and the son

wife trapped him, son liberated him imo

so, if my theory is correct, we are left with the photo, truly unescapable mistery
