You regularly sacrifice and obtain things to give yourself certain emotions. Claiming that something has no importance if it's based on transactions is claiming that your mind and it's thoughts are irrelevant. Meaningful bonds can form around transactions, and relationships can be examples of this.

In terms of the depth of relationships with sub-5 men, there is no reason they should be shallow. Relationships are shallow today because of the dysfunctional attitudes and expectations of society when it comes to relationships.
