I must be mad, secured a pre-order today at Curry's which is a retail UK tech store.

Got in store just like the PS5 but that literally took me a year after release. Try to pre-order in ur local store, you'll secure 1 because most people order online. Even in store the stock runs out but theres a much better chance.

This place had stock even after opening pre-orders since Thursday. The guy gave me a list of the games and accessories, told him I want the bundle with Mario Kart for 430. He said out of the 10,000 consoles allocated to them, 8,000 had already gone. The prices are ridiculous yet its still selling like hotcakes.

I'll buy a few games but not goin mad, Donkey Kong Banana & Metroid an I have the new Mario Kart for £30 at least. Theres a few games from the 1st switch I'll buy like Mario wonder an I have BOTW so ill just buy the upgrade on that .

I was hesistant mainly for the lack of trophy system but its for the exclusives mostly and I guess I just need to reconfigure my approach to games on nintendo.

On PS5 I always look at the trophy list and approach a game accordingly so I'll just have to play nintendo games like I approach the Yakuza games, which involves doing as much of the content I enjoy an not stress about the shit I dislike.

I'd love that because of the more mature games on playstation, theres a better balance of genres and trophies. I liked the Vita initially, platinumed few games on it like Rayman Origins which was 1 of the best gaming experiences for me playing that game on an OLED screen.

The last switch I didn't even bother with, played it briefly thats it, hated the fuckin screen and how games looked. People don't mention this but the 1st switch had a horrible warm colour tone, it was a panel lottery which tone you would get. On all tvs I never use warm tone because it looks like shit to me. Even the OLED looked unappealing to me because of the switch limited capabilities. BOTW looked so blurred on 720p and low frames.

in addition to the 1st switch hardware deficiencies, it made me resent playing that system. From what ive seen this system is at least on parity with the ps4 which is still a considerable improvement. I need to see the screen up close and personal, the increased resolution and frame rates seem a lot sharper and smoother as evident in that mario kart footage.

If games look good to me on this system ill play anythin half decent, even without trophies. Hope the ergonomics are comfortable as well, because I'd be playing handheld mostly, I have a PS5 for tv.

I'll eventually get one but I'm going to wait a year for better games and for them to fix launch issues. Legends za is coming to switch 1 so there's no reason to get a switch 2 right now.

I think I bought it for the marios and zeldas more than anything, ive always been a playstation guy so theres lot of nintendo games I haven't played. Growing up I did have a gameboy SP and loved Donkey Kong an had a few Pokemon games.

The main selling point is that these nintendo exclusives are now finally up to modern standards. The resolution and frame rates have been awful since time began on these systems. The 3DS looked like absolute dogshit with its 2 pixels on ocarina of time and the last switch was a mess in many technical aspects.

I'll use switch 2 for the exclusives predominantly, maybe the odd 3rd party game that I've neglected on ps5 due to my extensive backlog like Cyberpunk just to play it on handheld. Some more Yakuza's would be nice to keep up with that series at my convenience.

That's an interesting point that the Switch 2 may have more solid specs than 1.

I can't really see how the specs are more solid than the Wii U although I'm sure it will sell a lot more!

Ye I just wish they had a broader range of genres other than colourful platformers for the most part. The more mature games they do have don't really interest me like Xenoblade, Fire Emblem, Bravely Default.

I guess ill buy Metroid when that releases, just to have something more mature on the system. I'll buy Donkey Kong Banana, I want Tropical Freeze an the HD last game as well and oc Mario an Zelda's I've missed out on but 1 game at a time.

Mario Kart World will be the 1st Mario Kart ill be giving a proper chance, had the last 1, won a few races an that was me done. Forza is releasing this month on PS and I've just ordered Indiana Jones. Its been ridiculous this year for me as I also bought AC Shadows, Atomfall, KCD2 & DMC5, my backlog never ends.
