Male variance is higher. It's God's will to grind us into the dust.

FUCKKK. My mother is (or was) at least a 7/10 Stacylite with high cheekbones, beautiful nose and perfect eye area but my dad is 5'8 balding chink eyes and I inherited shitty genes. Thanks, DAD for fucking my foid mother and my life!!!

my parents are both normie looking and I retained the worst features from them

This newer (2014) study explicitly cites the one in the video and it instead found attractiveness to be modestly heritable for both sexes, plus that it actually seems to be opposite-sex heritable, with attractive mothers tending to have attractive sons and vice versa for fathers and daughters.

The heritability was ~0.50–0.70 forattractiveness and ~0.40–0.50 for facial masculinity– femininity, indicating that, despite ostensible selection on genes influencing these traits, substantial genetic variation persists in both. Importantly, we found evidence for intralocus sexual conflict, whereby alleles that increase masculinity in males have the same effect in females. Additionally, genetic influences on attractiveness were shared across the sexes, suggesting that attractive fathers tend to have attractive daughters and attractive mothers tend to have attractive sons.

Isn't the Y-Chromosome less diverse though?

"The human Y chromosome exhibits surprisingly low levels of genetic diversity. This could result from neutral processes if the effective population size of males is reduced relative to females due to a higher variance in the number of offspring from males than from females."

Probably, but I'm not sure whether that has much of an effect on facial attractiveness.
