Columbine shooters got 1 hour to roam around.

The short duration is because they used guns. Imagine how much longer it would take to kill that same number with a knife.

Hmm no.. Short duration is because of the new protocol cops follow of intervening early. This lesson was learned after columbine where it took around an hour for the first swat team to enter the school and then another 3 hours when they finally arrived at the library where most had died.
Knife attacks last less due to the perpetrator being easier to take down.
