"Why, oh why, aren't boys reading books?" "Why are girls excelling in reading?" Gee I don't fucking know let's have a look: From grades K-12 most reading curriculum is completely centered around a certain kind of genre, and while age and copyright play a limiting role when school boards select what gets in, there is a very real anti-male agenda. The setting of nearly every single book they have us read can be summed up in this one image:
They were remarkably consistently titled along the lines of; "Where ferns grow", or "Girls everlasting youth", or "Autumn's eve and love", or "Pride and prejudice (this title is real)" or some other uber feminine bullshit where you literally need to have a dripping little vagina between your legs in order to not fall asleep within two pages. Holy fucking shit I just wanted to blow my fucking brains out.
And I suspect many boys are put off of the idea of reading altogether when they are given this impression that this is how all books are. Why can't we get some space warfare or stories of overcoming the odds? Schools are so gynocentric that if a book has even a modicum of action or grand scale political clashes that it is considered "toxic" and must be discarded. Meanwhile, any boys who cannot (understandably) pay attention to these soy books are prescribed a dose of ritalin for not acting female enough.
It wasn't until my adult life that I discovered, on my own volition, that books can actually be interesting. I find myself mostly reading scifi but it is demonstrable that male readers tend to gravitate toward politics, non fiction, war and any other stories that are about IDEAS and NOT about FEELINGS. I would lodge a complaint with my former school administration but they're probably filled to the brim with soycucks and foids so fuck it now I'm just making up for lost time.
