At first glance balding seems like one of the more easier genetic inherited diseases to treat, just nuke your androgen levels enough so dermal progenitor stem cells can differentiate without getting jihaded. But the world of genetics and molecular biology is massive, there is unlimited variation from patient to patient due to the unique cellular signaling properties and mutations each person genetically inherits.
"Cures"
Treating norwooding with AR inhibitors has varying success (mostly little regrowth) from person to person, and typically full regrowth never happens if you start them too late. The only solid chance to have fast full regrowth with this method is to start them as soon as NW0.5. Also, it usually takes at least a year for any potential noticeable regrowth to happen. Since balding is a male only issue, your insurance will also refuse to help pay for it, despite the profound psychological despair it causes. Finasteride is cheaper, but is statistically inferior to its expensive counterpart Dutasteride.
What did it cost?
- "Everything".
The only guaranteed way to stop norwooding in most patients requires you to use an infamous method. This method involves not only having complete dht/AR inhibition from Dutasteride, but also taking androgen blockers to nuke your Testosterone, which can also bind to the androgen receptor to jihad the WNT10 pathway, causing your dermal hair cells to go ER. The result: massive increase in Estrogen. Ironically, insurances will cover all drugs for actual trannies without hesitation, but not for norwooding incels.
"Microneedling and minoxodil bro!"
"Why isnt there a cure yet?"
As someone with a background in biochemistry and genetics, I can assure you that this disease is complex in an overly retarded way. Curing it is extremely difficult, so far we can only treat it by blocking androgens and hair transplants. We know that mutations surrounding the WNT10 pathway are a primary cause, but there are many other factors that also play a role in balding. DNA damage, stress from oxidative free radicals, and other multiple other genes/affected pathways play additional roles.
There may be hope. Your hair follicle stem cells dont die after hair stops growing there, they just sit there doing nothing since they literally cant differentiate into dermal cells after being jihaded by androgens for so long. Once we have an effective means of manipulating genes in mammal (human) cells on a permanent level, we can run experiments by manipulating WNT and related genes and judging its cellular implications while also using non-androgen affected "side scalp hair" cells as a control. Effective mutations can then be inserted into the cells on the scalp to grow into new hair.
but we have alot of work to do
hope you enjoyed retarded things in nature episode 1
