Growing up, I was always the weakest kid in class. People could beat me in arm wrestling with their weaker hand, without even trying. I was made fun of for being weak. I thought, maybe I should just eat more calcium for stronger bones.
When I was like 12-13, I started occassionally lifting. I didn't even eat that much protein, and I asked my parents to give me protein powder but they told me to get protein from real food (but they had no problem with me drinking* almond milk or eating cookies for example) YES FUCKING ALMOND MILK my retarded dumbass ate cereal with almond milk for breakfast. I forgot why I drank almond milk instead of normal milk, maybe calories or something idfk, but that was so fucking retarded. They should have knocked some fucking sense into me. And then I didn't even get enough protein, so all the protein I consumed went to my muscles, not to my bones.
I didn't even know that height is important due to my autism jfl. I had no idea about this shit man, I just wanted to me strong. I think I took a break, then got back into it a year later for 4 months, then the year after, I got back into it for 5 months. Well guess what guys, since the age of 14, I have grown 2-4cm taller at most.
I remember before I was 15, my close relatives would call me tall, even some singer told my mom I looked like her dad, I remember when my mom would constantly have to buy me new clothes and how teachers would tell me that I grew taller. I miss that so much man, I fucking miss it so much. I took it for fucking granted. I didn't know that height was important, since I was a slightly above average height guy for my age I just assumed I'd grow up to be tall.
And also, I'm still weak, I barely got any stronger and the average 14 year old can lift way more than me, strength is genetic and I should have realised but nooo, I wanted to prove all the bullies wrong.
Lifting absolutely does stunt growth, I used to be friends with this guy who was a twig but around my height and he started going to the gym and he could squat 200kg at 16 but the last time I saw him, he looked 5'11. His relatives are taller iirc. I have read many people online say that they stopped growing soon after they started lifting, and I've seen it irl as well. Yes, there's tall teenagers who go to the gym, but they were already tall before they started going there. There's a reason why most tall young guys are lanky as fuck, they didn't autistically worry about muh muscular strength like I did.
Maybe I'm coping, maybe I'm not. Maybe I could have been an inch or two taller, or maybe even three, or maybe zero inches taller. Now I'm a 5'9, framelet and ugly midget.
