The IT redditors think they know everything about a topic even though they don't even do the most basic research on said topic, because most IT redditors are females, and females usually get positive feedback loop for merely existing while men actually have to work hard or show off their intellect to get a positive feedback loop. So females have no need and no reason to do anything intellectual such as doing actual research on a topic. And because society goes easy on females, they will gain no negative feedback loop for not thinking or messing up.
Some examples of this is how women hate "mansplaining", but if a man had another man explain something to them, they would either not care if they already knew the information explained and agree to it, agree with the information and listen and learn from the explanation, or disagree with the information then say they disagree. But when a woman has a man explain something to them, they will get mad because they don't like the idea of a man being smarter than them, because to the mind of a female, she must always feel superior to the average man.
This phenomenon of females getting mad at "mansplaining" shows that women hate the feeling of learning but love the feeling of talking and lecturing others and love spewing whatever opinion they have whilst not listening to others' opinions.
This is also why it seems like males are smarter than females, even though statistically, we have around the same IQ. Males are smarter because they actually have been conditioned to use their brains, and they actually have to use them, because that's way of gaining a positive feedback loop as a man, and we actually suffer the consequence of our actions.
