It’s most likely gonna be deleted so I saved it below.
If a child can't consent to sex, a child can't consent to a sex change. Either way, it's not worth it. I'll die on that hill.
Most cases of childhood gender dysphoria will reconcile by the time they are adults. It is impossible to distinguish chronic gender dysphoria that will persist into adulthood to normal childhood development until a person is an adult. This should be something that a child should be allowed to choose for themselves when they grow up, and nobody should have the right to take that choice away from them in their youth. Sex change is not just the surgery, sex change begins with puberty blockers and hormone therapy, neither of which are truly reversible to their original form.
The effects of puberty blockers are not reversible, they are permanent, so are hormones, and especially surgeries. Plastic surgery does not truly replace what you've lost if you change your mind. Blockers also inhibit penile growth and cause vaginal atrophy, meaning if kids who get them do grow into adults with chronic gender dysphoria and they need to get bottom surgery, they can't because there isn't enough tissue for the doctors to construct with. If that wasn't enough, it puts kids at a higher risk for certain cancers and suicidality. Many, many people are coming out now saying that their puberty blockers, HRT or both worsened their mental health.
In other words, most people who transition as a child will either grow up into someone with acquired gender dysphoria as a result of their treatments, who will never experience sexuality and sexual sensation as a result of their treatments, or who cannot treat their gender dysphoria because they cannot get the surgery they need due to their treatments. It's a lose lose situation, even if you end up with a body you identify with.
If you think there are not companies out there happy to profit off of well meaning parents by lying to them that transition is reversible and that their kid could die without, you'd be extremely naive. You'll be paying for expensive medical upkeep for your whole life, someone is making a LOT of money because of that. You will not find insurance that is happy to help you if you realize you messed up, because the companies don't want anyone to see that on paper, it makes them look bad. They see you as an economic battery, a number on a chart, and they'll keep you that way and quiet about it so you can't interfere.
Lastly, this is anecdotal, but I have personal experience with having childhood gender dysphoria that reconciled into adulthood. I was in a severely misogynistic and homophobic environment as a child, and I didn't understand that I was gay. If I had received gender affirming care at that time I would be in a world of hurt right now.
When it comes to parents' judgment, even a parent has no right to decide whether or not a child goes through extremely invasive medical intervention for something scientifically proven to resolve most of the time. Parents are not pillars of medical judgment, as evidenced by my own mother who wouldn't vaccinate me, so now I've had chicken pox and whooping cough and I'm at risk for shingles! The things here are backed up by decades of medical research and stories. Everyone should have the right to decide for themselves when they are an adult if they want to have their reproductive organs altered, and nobody should be able to take that choice away from them in their youth.
If you wanna let a child experiment with social transition? Sure, as long as you're not interfering with it and providing guidance. Honestly, acceptance is probably going to do wonders all on its own. Physical transition? Considering how many other treatments there are for it than removing organs and necessary stages of development, completely hyperbolic.
In a decade from now when a lot of these kids are suffering and hate their parents for taking that choice away from them, people will be wishing that they listened to the whistleblowers. It's already starting, and the numbers are growing rapidly.

**"and which has an extremely high rate of diagnostic inaccuracy in kids."Point conceded, there is no official, study backed test for gender dysphoric disorder so it is inconclusive, which should scare you even more than a high rate of diagnostic inaccuracy because there is simply no diagnosis process happening. That means everyone is just kind of taking it at face value and running with it.
