I understand how girls feel about ugly guys a little bit

As a straight guy who has been acquainted with gay men who have had crushes on me (three times at this point, suffering from success ) the difference in how I felt about the situation was pretty dramatic based on the attractiveness of the dude. Having an attractive dude hit on me was certainly a confidence booster, and the behavior didn’t really weird me out either, and I’m still friends with both of them. This feeling was a pretty big 360 when the guy was ugly though. Even though he isn’t directly hitting on me, it’s pretty obvious by the way he texts me / talks to me that he’s gay and likes me and I just feel weird and gross about the situation. I find him kind of annoying and just wished that he would leave me alone but I don’t really know how I could go about doing that without being an asshole. The experience just gave me an interesting and pretty brutal reality check about how society functions I guess and wanted to share it.
