There are a lot of these types of videos on youtube "why gaming isnt fun anymore"

You do have legitimate reasons, like the industry just becoming more slop

But these videos always fail to attack the real root cause of the issue despite touching on it they do it incorrectly

These videos are targeted at a specific age group I am apart of, it's that we're grown up now, it's not the same as when we were kids.

But thats an oversimplification to avoid the blackpill

The blackpill on why gaming is not fun anymore is that everything just sucks when you're not a top 20% male

Chad isn't gaming anymore, sure chad had a blast on minecraft when he was 13 but now chad is busy doing way more fulfilling stuff and is not touching games

These games just don't hit the same anymore because playing the game is now a cope, to fill a void, a void that exists because you're just not a chad.

Chad fills in that time fucking and having a GF, going outside, getting a good job and exploring more opportunities.

But we don't have these opportunities open to us, none of us seriously thought at 13 we would seriously still be playing these types of games or gaming anywhere nearly as much but here we are.

In conclusion, the reason gaming is shit now is not to do with the games so much, its just that gaming turned from genuine fun into a cope and a time waster to fill the void of your empty meaningless mediocre life, a mediocre life caused by not lucking out in the genetic lottery since good genetics are required to lead a good life in our societal landscape

I don't agree, I'm old and games still entertain and amaze me at times. Not as often when I was a kid, but I chalk that up to modern games largely being trash. I still get those special feelings when I find some hidden Japanese game made 30 years ago that I enjoy.

Thats good you still really find them fun, my post wasn't entirely a personal sentiment although occasionally I do find gaming to be not fun (due to reasons discussed above)

It's mostly an overall societal analysis, there are a lot of videos on youtube about gaming not being fun, but none will say it's not fun because you're a loser lol

I still enjoy games, not as much as when I was younger, but I can still enjoy them.
I can't play casual stuff anymore though, if the game isn't making me want to scream at it I can't get engrossed in it. I'm a stubborn person so if I play something difficult I can become a bit obsessive since I like to see things through to the end, maybe that's why I can still enjoy games, overcoming a challenge gives me a big dopamine hit.

I agree. While I was walking with my cousin and sharing my worries about the future, I said something to him.

"I feel like games these days are not as fun as they used to be. Even when I try a new game, it doesn't feel the same as the ones I played in the past, and I don't get as excited as I did when I was younger. I guess, unlike before, I play games now not for enjoyment but to escape from reality."

My cousin was in a similar situation and agreed with me.

Yep and all these normie bluepilled youtube videos miss this point, you game now because your life sucks, it no longer enhances it, and when your life suck and you are incel or incel adjacent, it means you spend more time than you should playing games, and the extra time spent on them in turn makes it less fun.

playing video games is extremely boring to me now it feels like doing a chore. Just sitting and staring at a wall is more enjoyable tbh. And i was able to play fucking san andreas on ps2 for 12 hours without pause as a kid.

Idk, I've started enjoying gaming again. Sure, it's not as much of an "wow" effect like when you were younger, but I still enjoying gaming. You just got to dig through all the mainstream AAA slop to find good games which is hard.

sure i might not get the same dopamine rush as when i was younger grinding fortnite ranked.

but i still have alot of fun playing games.

currently it is a moba and geoguesser.

games with a steep and endless learning curve are my favorites, because i have the feeling of constantly improving and getting better.

i agree it is coping mostly, but most non-top males have to cope in some way or another
