A friend of the family that we've known for years came back from Italy, and complained to us (myself, parents, and sister) that the shop workers and locals overall were rude and cold.

Quick backstory on her: she's a Gen-Xer who was conventionally hot for most of her life, from preteen to 40s or so, but not so much anymore (OK, granted, she can still attract a simp who's into older women, but the downgrade is strongly evident) Why is this important? Because, its NOT that the locals were rude or standoffish or whatever, its just that she no longer gets the hot girl treatment anymore. I've read and come across different iterations of this - hot people who get old or gain weight and now treated like shit, and those who understand say "I always thought people were just nice"

For me, rudeness is so commonplace that I don't even notice it anymore - I've been with coworkers or acquaintances that have told me "she has such an attitude with you", and I never noticed. That's the life of a sub-5, people are by default assholes.

Good for cunts to get a reality check

She will be humbled :feelshaha:

Reading people's first hand accounts of that, or discovering that when they see less attractive people get treated worse is just depressing. Not because of the thing itself really, but because of how completely blind people are to it unless they are forced to confront it or it's forcefully shown to them. That's one of the things being on this forum has really taught me, I doubt that humans can ever really understand each other in any real way. There's a reason why friendships develop almost solely between people who are very similar to each other, people take their privileges for granted and flat-out don't process other people's non-privileges, it's just impossible to grasp the lives, experiences and problems that don't fit your own lived experiences.

Young and beautiful people are always shocked at the plot twist of time getting it's toll.
As someone who's always been old and ugly, i know how this story ends, so i'm yawning.

I once went with my sister to the grocery store and she complained about how the male cashier was “rude”. I really didn’t think he was rude at all, just neutral. They are soo used to being worshipped it’s insane
