I walked in to this McDonalds (DT Toronto) at 1am for some shit fries, 2 bloaks screaming and swearing at some guy and his gf, I just roll my eyes and start placing my order. You could have been killed." I'm like..... bro, you want me to let that lunatic jump the counter and lay hands on that tiny woman? Delusional. This man then gets praise for saving that teenage girl. That's how it should be. I mean, don't do it FOR praise, but he deserved that praise 100%.

I did something similar not too long ago. I was driving home on my motorbike when I saw two guys hassling a young woman (early 20's). She kept trying to turn away from the guys, shaking her head, but one guy kept stepping in front of her. I rode up and instantly started shouting at the guy, telling him that no means no, and he should accept the rejection and piss off. He was surprised that a waigoren (foreigner) was getting involved and stopping him.The woman got onto the back of my bike and I drove her a couple of blocks back to the hair salon where she worked (I'm guessing she worked there, this was in Taiwan and my Chinese is non-existent, so I'm guessing).I've never seen any of them since, and this is the first time I've told anyone about what happened, but I regularly think back to that and it makes me feel proud of my actions.If you ever get the chance to step up like this, do it; even if you get no thanks in return, the feeling of having done the right thing is well worth it.
