Absolutely yeah, there's an option to deactivate hentai scenes too. I wouldn't disable it because they're pretty much entrenched with the plot but you also have the option to fuck the less young looking ones too they're almost all optional.

I haven't been able to get past the Forest of Lamentations (or Enchanted Forest?) where I have to defeat the orcs that have the witch locked up. Honestly, I found it interesting, but I don't know if it's really worth wasting my time on
Oh it is yeah, early game is a bit like that. If you can't get past an area or boss then try looking for an easier one which is what I did. The second game has better gameplay but both of the games are pretty good.
