Literally this. People always talk about rape as being the worst imaginable type of crime, and those who commit it are said to be compared to murderers. If you stop to think about it, it's not that deep. It will take you only a few minutes to visit some of these gore sites and see that there are a lot of things worse than rape, and that are committed in a far larger scale. People being burned alive, decapitated, stabbed to death, etc.
I think that this popular conception of rape being the ultimate crime was popularized by the growth of feminism in society. Femoids think that being raped is the worst thing that could happen to them because it reminds them of how weak they are compared to men. They could be easily dominated by the majority of men they despise if they wanted to rape them.
A few months ago I saw this article about the actor Iwan Rheon saying that acting a rape was the worst day of his career, when the guy's character literally tortured another character for days. And this is not even the worst part, because the horrible "rape scene" WASN'T EVEN SHOWN'. That's it, he didn't even pretended that he was physically raping her. Link to the article: Retarded Article
