It’s nothing to do with inferiority. In nature, rape is the main way of passing on genes. Consent was not a relevant thing for the vast majority of evolution.

In antiquity there were no laws. Thus, the strongest males were able to rape the most women. The most superior beings were able to rape the most without themselves being killed.
