I think that experiment is merely asking for sex and the guy was also described as attractive in the letter. I think he's misinterpreting the two. The 5% in the first is the males that they would have sex with it, but he draws that to only 5% of women would say yes to sex with a stranger.

It's not "5% of women say yes" more so as "women say yes to 5% of men." I think it's a non-sequitur but maybe I'm misunderstanding what he is trying to say.
