It's eugenics. They give slaves life ruining drugs that ruin their body and minds for profit while also getting rid of them at an accelerated rate. The side effects are various but some of them are PSSD (infertility, loss of sexual function, etc.) and even death, plus other problems/diseases which will cause you to die faster.
