Theres 2 ways to do a trade. Either the half ass way or the quality way. Well I prefer the quality way unless Im feeling selfish and heres why.
Here you can see 2 types of outlets. Ones the fancy ass lever locking outlets witch if Im right is gaining popularity in EU. And the other is a old school type were you use side screws to do a hook shape on a wire. Well from what I learned Im willing to say the old school type is far fucking superior in every way except for speed and ease of installation. Thats it.
You see the old school type allows more amperage to flow through if you do the side hook method. Meaning if you have a high demand load then your less lickely to cook up the fucking outlet. But you could rebutal on how the exposed sides of the screws/ copper wire if over stripped can touch the wrong shit and burn the house down and my rebutal here is the fact that you can use electrical tape to cover the fucking screws and prevent flamable or bad shit from touching the screws. So at the end of the day the side screw type recepticles allow better amperage flow, are equally as safe as the lever lock recepticles and are actually smaller in size allowing for more wire to fit in behind there.
Oh and another big ass reason to stick to the old school recepticles over the levington lever lock type, for 30$ you get 10 lever lock recepticles. Now I see these side screw recepticles sell for like 1-2$ per recepticle at home depot, same store that sells the fucking lever lock outlets. So for 30$ I can get either 15 or 30 of the normal side screw recepticles instead of the lever lock recepticles...
Comparing these 2 is like comparing apple bees for McDonald's prices and mcdonalds for applebees prices. Somtimes best of both worlds is a work of fiction and its a good thing to accept it even if that truth is inconvenient. Dont take shortcuts. Do a quality job. Granted this wouldnt apply to retail because retail is dead end wagie shit.
