also lxqt looks like a shitty knockoff of windows xp, not sure why i chose it, prolly cuz im retarded

probably will change gui to kde neon or g-nome

screen randomly died when i installed gpu drivers, it worked after i rebooted like 5 times jfl

samba share wouldn't work out of the box (like it did on mx linux). have to fuck around with the fstab file and whatnot

overall, it's functional now but I definitely prefer debian

mint just werks and you can do all the usual linux customization on it

You can debloat windows and get rid of all the adverts. It sucks that it's there but all my games work on it so I put up with it

To be fair pretty much any distro, even ubuntu, is like 80% less bloated than windows

i figured out the network drives issue, apparently had to install gvfs-smb because the shitty lxqt file manager (pcmanfm-qt) doesn't work with the normal vERsion of smb

now half the programs wont open files on the network drive lol

honestly its prolly better, i had fewer issues with it. There's also CentOS between fedora and RHEL

just wanted to try something different this time, I like to try different shit. maybe will try something arch based next time

thought it was a permissions issue, yet libreoffice and gedit both can edit and delete files perfectly fine

image viewer was, i installed the one from gnome (muh bloat!!!!) and it works fine jfl

still working on vlc

Fixed VLC issue, apparently the fedora dnf version doesn't work automatically with samba shares and needs an addon

oddly the vlc in mx (debian) worked perfectly fine
