Because of corona my school was moved online and all my classes are now on the Zoom app. During lecture, my instructor calls on students to ask them questions and make sure they're paying attention but she NEVER EVER calls on me. She will call on everyone else multiple times and sometimes even ask "hmmm who haven't I called on yet?" but she'll still end up calling on someone she already called on instead of me. And sometimes she asks questions without calling on anyone specifically. She waits for us to chime in. Whenever I chime in, she gets annoyed and says "please raise your hand and wait to be called on" (the app has a raise hand feature where an icon shows up on the person's image if they want to talk). But she never says that to anyone else. Literally no one else raises their hand to answer. I know for a fact that she just hates seeing my ugly face pop up on her screen. For those of you who don't know how zoom works: only the main speaker shows up on the screen. All the other participants in the call are minimized so you can only see their cams on the side, but they're so small you can't really see them well. But when someone unmutes their microphone and speaks, their webcam enlarges and takes up most of the screen.
Not only does the instructor ignore me because I'm ugly, but whenever I speak, some of the girls in my class start giggling and making funny faces. They don't do that when anyone else pops up on screen though.
