actually some people get pleasure from the pain stimulus. But is not that they enjoy pain, is just that they get pleasure from a pain stimulus. So, they get more pleasure than pain.
That doesn't mean shit. The pain in the gym is worth it because after working out you get a pleasure spike. And it avoids further pain like heart disseases or less probabilities of having cancer. The main purpose of going to the gym is having a better pleasure value in long term.

There are many complex triggers for people and it's not always black and white. Some people can feel pleasure through emotional abuse too.

You are putting words in my mouth, I never said pain is enjoyable by itself. I said it can increase pleasure if it's tangled with it in some way.
Pain and pleasure can correlate. In some cases there wouldn't even be pleasure without some kind of displeasure or pain. Take an itch for example, you have to feel the itch to experience pleasure by scratching it. And sometimes scratching enough to even hurt yourself can also be pleasurable depending what kind of itch you are experiencing.
