I wouldnt be opposed to this. On our old polls, we require a certain membership length etc. I believe this is a product of the forum software though. Not an active choice. This is something worth mentioning though. PM me so I have a record and I'll keep this in mind. If it is something that happens, we can find a way to change it.
NICE !
@zerozerozero Congatulations ! This is going well.
"I wouldn’t be opposed to this."
Da distinguished moderatorforce is open to the idea of changing how polls are handled.
which is positive and indicates that he is willing to consider improvements.
A good start!
Even better, he says that since long, the forum has more stringent requirement possibilities for who could vote in polls, such as a minimum membership length or other criteria. So our moderator understands the issue about transient users having disproportionate influence in polls, and that there
was a system allready in place before. So this raises the question: why is the better system not still in use? If the old system worked well, why was it changed in the first place?
Lets read on....
"I believe this is a product of the forum software though. Not an active choice."
The moderationforce suggests that the current situation (where any user can vote) is not a decision made by the admins or moderators, but rather a SETTING of the forum software being used. Also this part of the response makes sense !
Like many forum platforms, even if they have default settings for polls, this site might allow for customization, and after major UPDATE, updates quite common to reset parameters in a fucked up way, such as account age or activity level for participating in polls. Backed up with his years of understanding of the forum software’s capabilities, the moderator smartly concludes that this could be a software setting.
"This is something worth mentioning though."
This is good. Just a few moments away to repair this: I also did send a reminder to donkeyspooge4.
