Through the blizzard of winter,
Through the rain of autumn,
And blooming verdure of spring,
I reach thee oh summer!
I thought I was lost in haze,
Forlorn deep in a maze,
Thought nature a disgrace,
Yet still its course ever fast
Thy warmth caresses me gently
The skies ever so incandescent
I bow to thee meekly
Grandeur of nature so dreamy
Our rendezvous, long sought
But a fleeting moment
Though not for naught!
A respite from torment
Of a harsh mistress
Who fashions herself year
Whose shadows near
As the summer falls
Like gleaming sunsets
Commended by an arbiter
Who ought to be called the true mistress!
