Media Phenotypes of the Spanish and Portuguese [Updated}

Listening to @user 's criticisms of my last thread on Iberian phenotypes I've decided to remake it.

Atlanto-Mediterranid: Mediterranid type. Common all throughout Iberia.

Gracile Mediterranid: Mediterranid type. Common all throughout Iberia.

Berid: CM, Mediterranid, and Alpinid type. Most common in southern Iberia.

Baskid: Mediterranid type with Nordid, Alpinid, and Dinarid influences. Most common in northern Iberia, particularly the Basque Country.

Litorid: Mediterranid and Dinarid type. Common along the Mediterranean coast and islands of Iberia.

Transmediterranid: Mediterranid type. Most common in southern Iberia.

Paleo Atlantid: CM and Mediterranid type. Although it is rare in Iberia, it can be found in the north.

North Atlantid: Nordid and Mediterranid type. Also rare in Iberia and is limited mainly to the north.

West Alpinid: Alpinid type. Found mostly in northern Iberia.

Keltic Nordid: Nordid with Mediterranid and Dinarid influence. Quite rare in Iberia and is limited to the north.

Berberid: CM and Mediterranid type. Rare in Iberia and is mainly found in the south.

Paleo Sardinian: Mediterranid type. Rare in Iberia and is mostly found in the south.

I see you've added some regional variants/low frequency types as well, good on you.

Berberid and Paleo Sardinian are a lot more present in NA and some parts of South Italy than Iberia though

Which ones? A few of these types are present in MENA

None of these phenotypes are common among arabs except maybe the transmed. Mediterranids (southern europeans) and Orientalids (arabs and west asians) both belong to the Mediterranoid group which explains why there are resemblances, but for the most part they are distinct. I barely know anything about curry phenos. I’m focusing on Europe for now and my next two threads will be about Italy and the Balkans

I’ve met Iberians(north mainly) irl and they didn’t look MENA at all, if you also look at the phenos on humanphenos website, you can see whilst there is some overlap most of these are distinct to Europe. MENA have different ones

I’ve seen this on that pheno map, but from what i’ve read Mediterranid was used for Europeans and Orientaloid more for MENA

which explains why there are resemblances, but for the most part they are distinct. This is an arabid (orientalid) phenotype for context:

Yeah exactly, the Arab one is much darker and also has different facial features, such as their more hooked or wider nose

The Berberid is, as its name suggests, also widespread among the Berbers of North Africa, but is not very common in Iberia, although it does exist and is mainly attributed to prehistoric migrations from the Maghreb.

Never claimed that these were arabic phenotypes just that they looked arabic. If you can't tell the difference you might as well just use a translator.
