I like to use local models to generate thinsg less cencorship but also i can use it more without costing me money not as good but i can perfect with time and thats something i have plenty of, you should try some other models, grok is somewhat good at images too little less censorship but more ai feeling, veo 3 is also for videos so is higgsfield ai if i remember correctly really realistic and if you have a good prompt you can get some good results these are some good tools my b for the ramble, if you like local model and can run them look into abliterated models or one on huggingface lots of good ones can run on low spec hardware these days and wont censor
Yes, I use other models too. I have Claude Max to code and stuff. AI is great. I didn't try Grok but will do so. TBH ChatGPT doesn't censor too much.

if you can use local models you should really try things like gemma, and llama go fo 14 billion and up parameters, also if your big into the AI use the API's its usally cheaper per token than the 20 dollars per month plan or whatever also try windsurf or codex for coding etc
I should note API vs subscription plan depends on what you do but api's are cheaper for me and i use ai's 24/7 even use n8ns
Seriously? I tried API and they come up to more money for coding, Claude max is $100 and API cost around 200. I cant have local server as I have a not too powerful laptop. I like Chaude max and gpt for 120 a month it is not much, you read stories, get pictures, virtually unlimited coding it is great tbh.
have you tried open router they have some of the local models or open source models hosted on more powerful servies with more paramaters but i use the api soley, i still pay for grok at 30$ a month because the api is expensive but the local models and open router work well for me, you don't need the most powerful model to get good results. API's typically go by tokens and a million tokens even on capable models like 04-mini or sonnet-3.5 only cost a couple cents and i run millions of tokens through them, photo gen cost more same with video generation best way around that is just local models for now or waiting until the cost come down usually every 3-6 months
sorry by tokens i mean per million tokens, and while tokens can add up fast input tokens typically cost less than output tokens, if im able to find some way with other people on this forum combine our computer power i'll host our own llm and help fine-tune / train it

For programming API comes to more, have you tried Claude code? The context is excellent and for 100 a month it is unbeatable. The quality is good, Claude code on api is outrageously expensive.When you pay per month the investors actually foot the bill they go at a loss.
I guess it depends. Local is of course cheaper but for quality like code with context imo paying 100 a month is great.
Also why do you pay for grok, it seems expensive and worse than open ai?

I only pay for grok when they release a new model for me try it out without limits until them I don't because they have one of the most expensive API's along with google, and Yeah i've tried Claude code its basiclly the best one i've tried for coding, just a bit expensive for me. Also yeah grok is quite bad compared to open ai
Claude Code is amazing, it is $100, plus you can use their regular models. Google has a terminal code too that is free however, but not as good. things are moving so fast, however, prices will be slashed soon.

Yeah, Been messing around with gemini-cli recently def not as good as Claude code but I think it'll catch up pretty fast and the prices def will come down like they always do just takes a bit of time
The advancement has been amazing. I remember just in January of this year, Claude Code was complete shit. And now it works fine, produces close to perfect code. And the price has gone down, I used to spend $300 + a month just a few months ago, now just $100. Completely amazing so I am hopeful that AI can help incels too
Yeah the advancements have been insane, I remember back to the very first ChatGPT and even before than when models were just pure shit and couldn't do anything really, costed way too much and would fail alot, but now its pretty damn good and I only see it getting better, I agree that it'll probably help us too
And if you look at the image capabilities of CharGPT, they are outright amazing. IMO, it is definitely worth $20 so Im not sure why you are being a Jew about it and trying to save a few dollars by local hosting. It is not possible to have the same computer processing as OpenAI. The image alone is worth it, imo, you can create any picture you can image, using it to edit. you can write stories, bring your vision to life and even edit code.
So yeah, jsut think for 120$ i can basically write unlimited code, create images, create stories for myself to read, very amazing!
Well the only reason I run local models is cuz i'm poor and privacy my local models are acting as agents for my pc and controlling things that i typically want automated, also that still requires me to use the OpenAI api anyways because i need to access the model without the frontend so that's the main benefit is that I can bring the model to other locations off the openai websites lets me also fine-tune or change the tempature of the model control token etc

Oh yeah I live in the USA the api prices are pretty dirt cheap for some models its less than 3 cents usd per million tokens, and the rate limits are bit less harsh though i've never hit rate limits really on either plan regardless if its the API or the subscription. The main benefit is just being able to use the model anywhere you can even add it to some other applications to create automated workflows so its handy and easier to interact with than trying to use the website
Oh ok, yeah API is good for personalized, did not realize. For a low-IQ cell like me I can't make my own but I can see that. I used to use Cline with API and it was not bad on Gemini, low price, but the quality was too low.

Yeah there are some really good advancements in tech for robots though especially with the materials they are made out of seems pretty promising but yeah 2030 is the earliest i see it happening sadly
