physical dependance is way, way worse on heavy opioids
but the media trope of "shoot heroin once and you will immediately get addicted for the rest of your life" is total bs. one of my friends smoked heroin and he just got sick and hated it and never did it again. many such cases, heroin makes you sick when you first do it and for many people its simply not worth it so they dont even bother doing it again
