PC or Console?

I have an old tv lying around which is 1080p.

Since GPU Prices are sky rocketing. Should i just buy a ps4 for gaming and use the laptop for pc tasks?

Or should i build proper high end pc? and spend the money that way, however that would be way more expensive.

What should i do?

Getting a last gen console isn't a very good idea, you'll just regret it later when everyone else has the next gen versions.

If you can't wait then I would just go ahead and upgrade the computer, at least it's a reliable investment.

GPU prices are absolutely ridiculous. If you're in the US you'll be paying double the MSRP if you happen to find anything in stock. In Europe or other places you'll find it in stock but you'll play triple or more.

It's going to be a bad time to buy for the next two years so maybe try to get a current gen console? Depends on what kind of games you like.

Build a new PC with integrated graphics and buy GPU when the prices normalize, at least you won't pay for online features and still be able to get free games legally from many reputable game stores and be able to play them in low graphics.

Console I just love the simplicity/ease-of-use. Plenty of games work with mouse and keyboard these days.

I tried multiple consoles in my life (PSP, Xbox 360, PS3), but I never managed to learn how to control my players/characters without the keyboard and the mouse, so I think I'll stick with PC.

Its multifunctional,rather than only playing games/watching media on the console

PC gives more flexibility, I'll probably just get a 3080 rtx laptop soon that are released next month. I was going to get an xbox series x but they're impossible to get unless I pay at least £100 more than it's worth!
