Overated Japanese games

We've done a good deal of posts here about overated western games so why don't we list some overated Japanese ones? Here's some i would consider overated

Nothing of substance to offer but graphics

Street fighter

I understand liking it back in the day but the games have been so stripped down and casualised that there's no reason to play it over other better fighting games with nicer designs. Capcom deserves hate for the god awful new Fortnite art style they've chosen.

DS3, Sekiro and Elden Ring
First two are super linear and other is a procedural slop without a soul (copy pasted environments, enemies and even bosses)
Resident Evil 1-3
Run from the enemies like a pussy, too much of backtracking, bad level design, garbage combat and movement (at least N64 version have removed tank controls).
Nier Automata
Running simulator, coomers love it since it had hot 2B
Xenoblade Chronicles 1-X-2-3
They are single player MMORPGS, boring (but somewhat impressive) empty worlds, quests that are do x/kill y and nothing else, music in X makes me want to puke, plus X is censored.
Mario Kart
Normie slop
Animal Crossing
Foid and Normie slop
Silent Hill
Entire series is overrated, it's a slog to play through
Kingdom Hearts
Extremely simplistic and lame series, normies act like they are great but haven't played them as an adults.

Stop sucking Kojimas cock you waste of space. It's just a stupid tech demo ffs and you keep worshipping it for over a decade like 2nd coming of Christ. Do you really not have something better to play?
Devil May Cry/Bayonetta
95% of the gameplay is just juggling enemies in the air that can't fight back against you. MGR Revengeance did it better since even common enemies can kick your ass if you are not careful.
Dragon's Dogma 1-2
Play once, beat and forget.

Yeah, I tried playing OG resident evil and got bored. Fatal Frame is better than silent hill and OG RE.

Souls slop are very repetitive and get old

Only first game was great anything else was a mistake. Series should end it at the first game since in reality i was just upgraded Demon's Souls (aka tech demo)

That's what i'm doing 95% of the time. Only games i buy are from Humble Choice since they are cheap and i can afford them every month $8 a month atm for pack of games and ones that i don't like i sell for $ and then buy next month for free. Last games i have purchased on Steam was Katamari reroll remake, Empires of the Undergrowth, Fallen Aces and Zone of Enders 2nd runner in June/July 2024 since then nothing not even a single game.

The campaign was a huge disappointment. Dramatic step down from Subspace Emissary, where you would fight hordes of original enemies.

Why add fighting game you barely play those games beucase of the high skill floor and you being too lazy to learn combos
