Romans 5
1Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.
3Not only that, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces ;4perseverance, character; and hope. 5And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.
1Peter 4
12Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. 13But rejoice in as much as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.
2Corinthians 1
5For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.6 If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. 7And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.
Romans 8
18Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. 19For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. 20Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope, 21the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay.
22For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering.
1 Colossians
24I am glad when I suffer for you in my body, for I am participating in the sufferings of Christ that continue for his body, the church.
1 Peter 2
19For it is commendable if someone bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because they are conscious of God.
Luke 24
26Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?
Isaiah 14
3 On the day the Lord gives you relief from your suffering and turmoil and from the harsh labor forced on you
Psalm 40
13Please, LORD, rescue me!Come quickly, LORD, and help me.14May those who try to destroy me be humiliated and put to shame.May those who take delight in my trouble be turned back in disgrace.
15Let them be horrified by their shame,
for they said, “Aha! We’ve got him now!”
Psalm 126
5Those who plant in tears
will harvest with shouts of joy.
Revelations 21
1Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. 2And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.3I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them.
4He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”5And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.” 6And he also said,
“It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life. 7All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be my children.
