I see no problem in it once in a while. But once it becomes habit it's path to hell. It kills the body, dulls our minds. All the last remnants of dignity gets out of the window. I've seen first hand what kinds of damage it can do. Enough to make me not touch it ever.

You probably have good genes, but usually even the most Germanic of Germans get hung over. The hangover is the worst side effect and it can fuck up your entire day.

I'm 6 days sober and I'm starting to feel better.
I went 4 weeks sober back in march and got so much shit done compared to now.
I highly don't recommend it.
Everyone's different in the way they handle alcohol but in general your motivation to do anything shoots way down after you drink.
Your dirty laundry will pile up, your car will get dirtier and dirtier, your fridge and pantry will empty up, your relationship with your family starts to decline, you're less productive at work, work less, or quit altogether. You spend your free time napping. Every time you feel lonely you start to think about drinking again and the cycle repeats and gets worst as time goes on. Your skin starts to become dry and flake and look 10+ years older. You wake up from your hangovers with your heart pounding and drenched in sweat. It's a minor seizure/panic attack basically from alcohol withdrawal.
I envy the people that mention how they've been 1-2+ years sober. Their lives have likely improved drastically with the motivation and energy to get shit done.
