I've started playing it a week ago after I played DMC5 2 years ago. In my opinion it's honestly a weird game. It feels like a resident evil mod (yes I know it was RE4) with some cool combat. I think the combat is solid although the lock on is bad and the god damn camera angles are atrocious. The tone shifts drastically from quiet and atmospheric to action packed an comedic. The game feels more like a well designed mod but for a ps2 game it's really good. I'm now on mission 17. I am also most excited to play DMC3.

I haven't played it, so not sure

You should brah the Devil may cry games are good although I would start with DMC5 since it's the most beginner friendly. If you're on a really low end PC I heard DMC3 is a solid starter game to and the first chronologically in the timeline, but haven't played it myself yet so can't judge.

alright then mang

I'll try the DMC3 since my PC is broken and I mainly use my laptop. Depending on how much I enjoy it, I'll buy DMC5 as well

Not big fan of it, DMC3/4/5 were much more fun and refined.

because it was a re4 prototype earlier in development but they made it into its own thing

Great! It's kind of an old game but it's a hack and slash game with really good combat and the story is interesting as well as funny. I would watch a yt video on it to see if you like it. On steam you should buy the HD collection to play it.

i played back in november and i still have it.
it's a pretty decent game, the love the design of the characters, environment, the music and the general vibe the game was going for.
they were trying to make the game feel gothic, dark, unsettling and scary.
there are some thing about the game i don't like though.
the camera can sometimes fuck you over, the game can look too dark so you can't see where your going and i wasn't too keen on you having to fight griffin 3 times.
you don't get a whole lot of weapons to use, the only weapon i really used in the whole game was alastor.
its still a decent little game for the ps2 and it mogs dmc2 any day, but 3 is def the best.

I don't mind fighting griffin 3 times. I have more of a problem with nightmare the camera is the worst for him as well.

The devil may cry series is pretty good I would definitely try it if you like comedic hack and slash games with some lore packed in it as well.
Based

Every boss is 3 times. I like Nelo Angelo the most it actually feels like a proper fight like the modern games.

i disliked fighting griffon because he spends most of the fight with him in the air, so you can't get close to hit him.
also i'm pretty sure there was this one enemy, shadow was cut dmc1.
i never encountered it once through my whole playthrough of one for some reason, even though he was in the manual.
maybe it was a cut that was unique to the pal release of 1.

Oh that's weird on the HD collection on PC I encountered him after breaking the lion statue and after Nelo Angelos first fight. He's kind of annoying to fight but once you get the hang of it you can easily beat him.

maybe he was cut from the european release of 1 on the ps2, but was added back into the collection.

Probably the hardest game I’ve ever beat. Mundus on DMD took me like 7 hours of non stop attempts.

I already struggle sometimes at normal mode I'm NOT playing it at DMD
