In the past 2 years I have met 4 men who were in open or "poly" (polyamorous) relationships. At least 3 of these guys I know for 100 percent fact they are not seeing anyone on the side while their girlfriends are. The other I didn't know too well so I don't know the situation. And none of these guys were even bad looking. 3 were average and the other was a chadlite.
But for my entire life up until a couple years ago, I only ever knew 2 guys in relationships like that. I've known plenty of guys that got cheated on over and over and still stayed....but there was at least the pretense of monogamy.
And to put things into perspective, I'm 31 years old. I was much more socially active in my late teens and early 20s. The pest 2 years I've mostly only left the house to work and go shopping. I go to social events/gatherings only a few times a year at this point. So the fact that despite this, I met more in the past 2 years than I ever have says a lot.
It's not just numales on reddit that are in these kinds of relationships. It's a large chunk of this generation. It's a trend that is on the rise and will be the default for relationships eventually. Wanting monogamy as a male will become more and more taboo. "Why do you want to control who your girlfriend is romantically/sexually with when you're not around, you fucking neckbeard control freak?!"
