It’ll never come close to replacing a real woman. At least not in my lifetime. Even if the technology got incredibly advanced, I don’t think you could fully trick your brain into believing it’s real
The physical touch will be realistic with the temperature of the body changing depending on the conditions as well. Technology is moving fast so maybe it will happen in our life time.

Yeah, but it never will be as good. You can’t form a loving relationship with it like you can a real woman (if she’s one of the extremely rare good ones). It can keep approaching realism more and more, but never be the same.
So far it's just terrible, not nearly enough.
Nevertheless we're seeing important developments in robotics and AI, and once we get a product that's just good enough to get some traction, progress will snowball. More men than ever are single, and the robot wouldn't need to be extremely realistic in order to be a preferable option over being lonely or being in a bad relationship.
VR/AR/mixed reality avatars will come sooner and of course will be much cheaper. We'll probably have an early version of something like JOI from Blade Runner by the next decade, through some lightweight VR/AR glasses.

Seems way more likely that we will get full dive neuralink VR gaming like player one to me aswell.
