Retarsed rant incoming idk
Autism as disability
Speaking from personal experience and observations, i am sure everyone here will agree autism essentielly functions as a sort of disability - it prevents true integration into society, isolates one and essentielly makes you into an incel. In modern society autistic males are far more likely to be virgins, lonely, suicuidal, economically unseccessful and so on. Any attempt at bringing up positives is futile in comparsion with the negatives. However, to deny there are positives would be lying, which leads me into the next section
Asceticism, the denial of the self
I think its fully legitimate to ask wether autism ever served a social role of any sort. I belive the answer is yes. I am not sure if religion is an "a priori" trait of mankind, as all human communities posses it, yet it can be explained as the logical conclusion of several behaviours and not as a behaviour in of itself. Regardless, it is a universal. And within the realm of religion, a most intersting phenomenon emerges: Asceticism, or self denial.
By that i mean the purposeful avoidance of material and emotional pleasures, seen through behaviours like fasting, isolation, purposeful sleep deprivation and so on. In its more extreme forms it can also include self inflicted bodily harm.
ASceticism is found in all human societies to some degree, and often than not becomes a prominent trait of a society, such as monks in christiany or Saddhus in india.
there have been various attempts at explaining and evolutionary or psychological basis for asceticism. A notable one that many people know of, is that of Nietszche, who sees the ascetic as one, who when conforted eoth a violent and painful world turns the will to power "inwards" into a metaphysical reality, and thus self denial becomes a strategy to direct the will. This is similar to schopenhaur's interpratation, who views the ascetic as one who attempts to subliminate the will. All this works very well with indian or abrahamic ascetics, yet fails as an explanation when conforted with another lesser known form, that of Mexico.
The native Nahua (aztec) priesthood had a form of asceticism so extreme that it involved them inflicting harm upon their earlobes, penises and tongues, shedding blood, often in a regular and pre planned manner. This form of asceticism is "this worldly" not metaphysical - they did not aim to get any sort of reward in the afterlife, but to keep universal baalnce by self sacrifice andnoffering to the gods, who in turn has done themselevs for this world. Nietszches and Schopenhaurs explanation hardly holds ground here. What can be an explanation than, and how does it relate to autism?
Autism and Asceticism
to me, the highly ritualised system of avoidance and suffering observed by these holy men throught history, can hardly be the workings of a "normal" mind. Who can imagine a normie of our age, deciding to purposefully bestow suffering upon itself, in hopes that this somehow brings him to a better afterlife or pleases the gods? I cannot imagine that.
To me it seems these sorts of behaviours are the works of an autistic mind, or at least that of a non-nt one. That is not to say that all of these, or even the majority, are aspies - but merely that these sort of behaviours seem like they would correlate and be influenced by traits such as "Obsessions, social withdrawl, a slight tendency to delusional thinking, a desire for order (here translated into metaphysics) etc - all traits we see exhibited in autistic individuals. I will also note that this connection has been made - if you google autism and asceticism you will see im far from the first one to notice it.
Autism in the world of religion vs Autism in the world of today
I have made the claim, essentielly, that throught history autistic behaviours often manifested themselves in the bizzare practice of asceticism. I will now make a wider claim - much of religious "eccentric" behaviour is the work of historical non-nts. Look at the hebrew prophets, eurasian shamans or certains ecret societies within african tribes - these cannot be the work of normal human beings.
I belive autism always was a disability, but that in the religous world, it could manifest as a force of great creativity, and at least give some meaning to the suffering and life of the person who suffers from it. Nowadays, as that is gone, we have less of an outlet to our suffering. The societal attempt, pushed by women and troons, to recognize "neurodovergency" is dangerous and sick, as it implies our condtion is not a disability, but merely "a little quirk". This can easily be disproven, and my earlier rant about asceticism isnt to show that "autism is a superpower" but that earlier societies had some kind of outlet for autistic men
while nowadays we are excpected to eother rot quitely or to partake in the liberal fight to dismantle society.
tldr: in da past autistic people could do cool shit like being monks (still sucks and isnt a normal life) while now we are just supposed to suffer quitely or some shit
