My main issue with the subject of mental illness is that there is no objective basis on the emotional states of the subjects that are being observed, that is, everything is assessed based on observed behaviors that are incongruent with the behaviors of the community, state, or federation. That the entirety of these diagnoses are mostly made up by people with much money to burn and pills to push to select and discriminate individuals based on observable traits that do not mesh with the environmental instances of events.
One example is say most people find car wrecks depressing and sad, but there is this one guy who finds them funny so they are selected to be reformed through therapy and medication so they adjust their mental states to something more appropriate for the occasion like everyone else, instead of letting themselves "be themselves". Not only that but there is no criteria deciding which behaviors are appropriate for the given situations, those decisions are decided by the community at large to pinpoint what behaviors are good and which ones are bad, the therapists and pill pushers are just social analysts who observe the situation and then put a label on the condition and create the cure for it.
And oftentimes, its not even a cure but something that people have to take everyday, which usually is akin to a vaccine, only much worse as it doesn't prevent the condition, only treats it with no end in sight, something that wouldn't be an actual problem if society first and foremost did not see it as incongruent to the social fabric of any given culture and primarily just saw these emotional states as mainly just variations on different personalities instead of a problem that needs to be evacuated.
