You know those crazy old people you see talking to themselves in public. That's gonna be you if you get that old and don't rope first. I was getting some fast food at McDonald's via the kiosk, while thinking about Red Dead Redemption 2. Didn't realize it, but I was talking to myself like the main protagonist. Was saying shit like "that's right, boiii, you betta watch out or I'll mess you up real good." Finished my order, looked up and some couple with their two kids were looking at me like I was a crazed man.

Basically, the longer you go without human contact, the more time you spend talking to yourself at home, the more you forget you're not at home when out in public. The barrier has dissolved that keeps you in line with social norms.

Brutal agepill ngl.

Schizotrait ngl

I talk to myself and say little prayers as I shop, ngl.

I talk to myself a lot when I drive.

I do this. I just do it without really thinking, it just happens. People look at me weird. I'm trying to catch myself doing it.

Am youngcel (almost twenty). Do this also. In the gym today I talked to myself, talked about my mistakes, my performance etc. When I read a book, I recapitulate a summary of the text verbally. Whenever I want to go somewhere, I talk loudly about my plan for the day. When I do math/physics etc., I loudly argue with myself about the best way to solve the problem.

Not really an oldcel exclusive trait.
I'm in my 20s and severely struggle with this as well. I always catch myself talking to myself out loud in public and getting strange looks from normies.

I can relate to all of that, holy shit.

One of my favorite comments on this site. :) Yeah, when the time without human companionship stretches OVER the decades, something clicks & you start talking to yourself. I've gone so long without talking that when I eventually have to my throat hurts. My muscles there have atrophied or something...

I do it everywhere.

I just cannot focus without it.

I've started doing this myself. Shows that I'm reaching rock bottom.
