Sure, in Middle school and High school you're quite awkard, but other kids are generally awkard as well as everyone is in the process of maturing. Some leeway is there. But then when you get to college and people are more socially attund and matured, shit really gets difficult. You will expereince ostriziation for being even slightly awkard. If you make ONE faux pas you can instnatly lose face and never be able to recover it. People will judge you simply for being shy and introverted. They will call you creepy for it. After college, autism is simply a death sentence in life. In job interviews, you have to put on a NT "performance" with "confidence". If you appear even slightly introverted, shy, or awkard you won't get hired. And even when you are hired, you constnatly have to put on an NT mask to avoid losing your job or being ostricized.
Being autistic is so exhausting.
