Because of their mentality, only having male offsprings, the often kill female babys by abortion or after birth. They made females rare as diamonds and too much men compete for the few foids. The only scenario that actively puts men in a position of power in the dating market is:

Male Scarcity (less men than women, like post WW2, less men to pay taxes so the resource (money) is scarce. There is no money for government jobs or social services to support women.)
